Hi, I’m Mallorie Miller. I’m married to Michael Miller. We are both parents to two beautiful children. I’ve been encouraged to make a GoFundMe to raise money to pay our lawyer the retainer fee for adoption paperwork for my husband to adopt my son.

Since Kolsen was 2 years old when I met Michael, he has raised Kolsen as his own with open arms. Michael is a hardworking, dedicated man, without a doubt the best thing that ever walked into our lives. He’s amazing in every way.

Together, we have an 18-month-old daughter, Gracelyn.

Biologically, Michael is not the father of Kolsen, but he has raised him as his own. They have created an unbreakable bond. Kolsen is now 5 years old and has been asking us recently why Michael can’t just adopt him already and often refers to himself as Kolsen Miller instead of his actual last name.

Kolsen is a fun, loving, full of energy, smart kid. He’s realized his biological dad hasn’t been around for quite some time. His biological dad refuses to sign off his rights to him. He hasn’t seen him in 2 years, he doesn’t text or call to ask about him. He’s missed 2 birthdays, 2 Christmases, and every holiday. He’s let him down more times than he can count and has proven multiple times that he’s an unfit parent, raising other children that aren’t his, but not his own. Kolsen is not his only child.

Unfortunately, last year our home caught fire and we haven’t been able to live in it since then. We’ve had to give up a lot and lose a lot. The money for the retainer fee is just not in our budget right now, but we want to make our little boy the happiest he could be as “Kolsen Miller.”

We know this is a long stretch, but it would make us all so happy to make Michael his dad!

Kolsen is fully aware he has “another dad” but chooses Michael every day. He loves him so much.

Michael is a full-time mechanic and works endlessly to keep us afloat. He’s also a firefighter/EMT and a hot air balloon pilot! Michael has been an amazing leader and influence on my boy. I couldn’t ask for a better father figure in his life. I want to make this come to life for both of them. We’d be so grateful for anything that is contributed to doing what’s in Kolsen’s best interest! All we need is the retainer fee; we already have the paperwork.
