Make Frank's 66th Birthday Trip to Ghana Possible

Hello, my name is Maya Hislop and I am raising money on behalf of my father, Frank Hislop. He would never ask for help in this way himself, so I am doing it for him.

My father is a proud Trinidadian man, an artist, a poet, and feels a deep connection to his birthplace of Trinidad & Tobago. Like many Black people living in the U.S., it has been a dream of my father's his whole life to visit Africa and discover his roots in the motherland. And he is finally making this dream come true! He is going on a week-long trip to Ghana this December. The issue is that he lives on a very fixed income. Having worked as a telephone technician for 30+ years, he is finally enjoying his retirement, but living on social security and a small pension alone makes it difficult to enjoy international travel. He is just barely making payments on this trip and so, for his 66th birthday, December 10th, I'm raising money for him to pay off the trip, cover some extraneous costs related to the trip, and so he has walk-around money to enjoy Ghana while he is there.

I know the holidays are an extremely tight time for many of us financially and understand if it is not feasible for you at this time to support.
