Make a Difference This Summer: Help a Child Learn to Swim
Tax deductible
Did you know that many children never learn how to swim—not because they don't want to, but because they don't have access to lessons? Swimming is not only a fun and healthy activity, but it's also a critical life skill that can prevent drowning and build confidence.
This summer, we are partnering with the YMCA of Montclair to raise funds that will provide free swimming lessons to 25 children who would not otherwise have this opportunity. These children will be selected based on demonstrated financial need, using the Title I status of their schools as a guide.
Each $200 donation will fully sponsor one child and will cover: A full set of professional swimming lessons; two swim caps, a towel, and a pair of goggles
If you’re not able to give $200, that’s okay—every dollar counts. A $50 donation will provide all the essential swim gear (caps, towel, and goggles) for one child.
Smaller contributions will be pooled together to help sponsor additional children.
Why This Matters
Access to swimming lessons is often taken for granted, but many families in our community simply can’t afford them. By donating, you're not just giving a child a summer activity—you're giving them safety, confidence, and joy.
How Your Donation Helps: 1) Promotes water safety: 2) Builds physical and emotional confidence. 3) Levels the playing field for children in under-resourced communities.
Your donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal and will have a direct and lasting impact.
The YMCA of Montclair is a nonprofit charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code, so your gift is tax-deductible.
