We are Ric, Gill and Henry. We became aware of an inspiring initiative in the Plettenberg Bay area in South Africa. The local community has serious economic and social challenges, but in the midst of that Lindiswa Zitshu (Lidz) is effectively bringing joy, meaning and hope to girls and young women - and in fact to the wider community. Lidz says simply: “Our vision has always been to develop ladies football in Plettenberg Bay and in the region. Our team doesn’t only consist of Plettenberg Bay players but we have players throughout the region. When I took the decision to form a team, I wanted to afford young women the opportunities in football that you and I were never afforded.”

The amazing impact that has been achieved by Lidz and her initiative belies the very significant financial challenges they face.
