Volunteering to make a difference in Majur, Croatia

Hi !!

My name is Lisbeth and I will be volunteering in Majur, Croatia (on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina) for one week in June alongside other girls through the Glenard & Beloved Social Project.

This area of Croatia was badly affected by the Yugoslav Wars. Many loved ones were lost, homes destroyed and there was a declining sense of hope for the future.Many of the men of the village have died or disappeared due to the historic conflicts. This has lead to the elderly caring for young children as parents work tirelessly in the capital.

Today the village remains in a state of struggle .

The village in Majur where I will volunteer in needs to be rebuilt. We will be working with a personal friend from Croatia who we worked with in the past to assist with repairs, painting, and other manual jobs. With the help of our group from Ireland, we aim to work with the people of the village to instill hope for the future.

All donations will be used for project costs: travel to and within Croatia, food, and work materials.
