Major’s Adoption

Donation protected
Hello everybody, I'm raising money for my mom, April, in the hopes of adopting Major. We fostered Major and one of his half siblings (that was reunited with his bio-family) in November of 2017. If you do not know about Major let me tell you a little bit about him. He is funny, smart, rambunctious, athletic and a video-playing joy to have around. He loves to be the center of attention (especially my mom’s lol!) and we love being able to have him back around our family! When Major first came to us in November of 2017, he was 3 years old, and it was very hard for Major to make attachments, but he and my mom connected so deeply. Each member of my family started to connect with Major and expected never to have to say goodbye. Major was removed from our family in December of 2018 and our foster-to-adopt fell through. Major had been reunited with his great uncle. During Major's time with his great uncle, my parents divorced, and life went on. Aidan and I had started college and my mom was in a new long term relationship. Finally, the healing process started from all the loss that took place in our family. Major's great uncle allowed us to be a part of Major's life for a short period of time after he was removed. Fast forward to September of 2021 (almost 3 years later) Major's great uncle reached out to my mom and ask her to take him back due to unforeseen circumstances. Without hesitation, my mom gave up everything she had and started completely over so that Major could have the stability and family that he so deserved. Currently my mom is working as a 3rd grade teacher to make ends meet and provide for my brothers and herself. She is also graduating with her bachelors degree in May from the University of North Texas. Major is in 2nd grade and loves all things hockey, football, and Fortnite. Although he is a bright kid, there are a few setbacks that we’re facing with not only his education but behavior as well. While adoption is our main point of focus for fundraising, getting him in behavior play therapy, tutoring, and more that he needs to make up for lost time are some of our main goals once the adoption is finalized. I know that my mom greatly appreciates anything given. We truly thank everyone for donations in advance. I am asking that if you can help Major legally become my brother, so he and the rest of my family never have to say goodbye again, I would be beyond grateful. All donations will be used for legal fees, court costs, and other adoption needs. We really appreciate everyone's contributions in advance. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our experience with Major, please contact my mother (April Potter) or me (Avery Potter).
