We are two young sex workers who lost their jobs due to COVID. We both have vulnerable immune systems so going back to work during this time is too risky. The picture you see above is us (Nicki on left, Bia on right) the day we got our first apartment. We were so happy because this was our first stable home in years. We had both been homeless, in & out of shelters, couch surfing, motels, etc. for months during & after our senior year of high school & had entered the sex work world together because our (multiple) vanilla jobs weren’t able to fund permanent housing. We relied on dancing because it was our only stable source of income that could support our first apartment, but it broke us as young women (18 & 19 when we started). Unemployment has not come in, though we have been able to generate some income through our crafts (sewing, crochet) Now we’re facing debt from rent & utilities amounting almost $8,000. We both suffer severe anxiety & depression. Bia recently experienced a mental health crisis & is still recovering. Anything helps, thank you so much.❣️
