Mainspring: The Seacoast Social Service Collective is a new, innovative, and strategic initiative that aims to change how we care for our community. For many years, we have been working incredibly hard to solve food insecurity, prevent homelessness, support workforce training, and provide mental and behavioral health services… Yet, these vital issues (and many more) continue negatively impacting our neighbors and communities.

The Mainspring team has designed a collaborative and transformational approach to caring for our community. By bringing services, programs, and resources from over a dozen nonprofit partners together in one central location, Mainspring provides individuals seeking assistance with a streamlined and comprehensive way to access support. It offers non-profit partners shared overhead, shared mission, and a collaborative model of care where each agency is a cog in the wheel rather than the wheel itself. The Mainspring model not only supports individuals seeking assistance and the nonprofit partners administering care but also supports the whole community as each person, each child, and each family is cared for with respect and dignity utilizing a comprehensive and strategic design.

Mainspring partners believe “to do what’s always been done” is no longer enough. What’s always been done is where we are today. We are excited to witness the Seacoast Region move the needle forward on mitigating the impacts of poverty today and for the next generation.

The Mainspring model has the potential to be a game changer, and we’re playing the long game. We're hopeful that together, we can build a stronger community where all individuals have the resources to thrive.
