MAINE for MAIN
Steuerlich absetzbar
The asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants arriving in Maine need our help.
Maine Access Immigrant Network (MAIN) welcomes your support to continue meeting the needs of the communities it serves. Established in 2002 by resettled refugees, MAIN is almost entirely immigrant and refugee-run, from board to staff; the people served by the MAIN team are receiving care from people who have walked similar journeys.
MAIN's Community Health Workers - all of whom are refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers from the Middle East and Africa - make up a team that is highly skilled and trained to deliver case management and public health education in the appropriate language (such as Somali, Arabic, Lingala, Swahili, French, Kurdish).
MAIN welcomes and helps to empower every individual who walks through its doors. Over the last few years, MAIN's six Community Health Workers have helped nearly 2,000 clients and at least 100 professionals including doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists, social workers, lawyers, law enforcement, faith leaders, financial advisers, academics and more.
To date, MAIN has relied almost entirely on grant funding related to public health programs serving the health and well-being of the refugee and immigrant communities. However, current funding to support MAIN case management is not enough for the organization to meet this community need. Your contribution makes a distinct, concrete, and tangible change in the life of each individual MAIN serves.
Thank you for joining MAIN in building a stronger community.
