Iran is currently in the midst of a revolution! The Iranian government killed a vibrant 22-year-old woman, Mahsa Amini, on September 16 for wearing her enforced hijab “too loosely”. This was the last straw for Iranians who now want the regime completely gone. Ever since then, we’ve had numerous, vast protests all around the world. The violent mob that calls themselves the Iranian government has responded to this revolution with full force, bringing in trained agents from other countries such as Russia to suppress protests and kill Iranian people. They have shut down the internet so there’s very little flow of information. However, it has been officially confirmed that at least 240 people have been killed and among them are 29 CHILDREN.

The atrocities and cruelties of the Iranian regime during these past six weeks have been beyond imagination. They shoot and kill protestors using snipers and on-ground forces. They kidnap protestors, students, athletes, journalists, labor activists— any indivuduals who have the courage to speak up against these monsters. They have raped and killed people, including minors. They often refuse to give the dead bodies back to their families for a proper funeral, and in many cases, have even arrested the family members of the dead. Many young people are missing and nobody knows where they are.

We at NewMexico4Iran (follow us on Instagram!) stand with the people of Iran. We ask that you consider donating to this fundraiser so that we can use the funds to increase awareness of this across the Albuquerque area by purchasing billboards and ads, creating merchandise, and organizing our future events. The price for a billboard for a week is $3,000, which is what we hope to achieve with this fundraiser. Please help us meet our goal so we can all amplify the voice of Iranians.
