For Mahogany Battle 9-10-1990 – 4-2-2021

Everyone deserves relationships free from any form of domestic violence

Our spirits are broken, our hearts ache, due to the passing of our loved one Mahogany Champagne Battle. On April 2, 2021, she was tragically taken from us in a senseless murder-suicide that was witness by her oldest child. Her sudden death is a shock, and a great loss to us all, but mainly to her Mother Regina Battle, 14 siblings,   and her 5 beautiful children, Tamaria Clayton, 14 who has a very calm personality, Jaquese Clayton , 11 who enjoys doing nails, Amyha Jones, 9 who likes art, Mekhia Wright, 5 who loves playing with her dolls, and her only beloved son, Genesis Wright, 1 who is a typical 1 year old who love playing with his trucks and his siblings. These children will desperately miss their mother…

Mahogany was a kind soul with a vivacious spirit. Her spirit was broken when she had to deal with the loss of her father Norman E. Johnson on November 12 2019. She struggled so hard with this. However, she loved her children to no end and used her time with them to get over the hurdle. They were no doubt her entire world. She was at the threshold of saving to buy a house as well as purchasing a business for her children to build and teach them the value of being independent. Therefore, she obtained her LLC to pursue opening a business called Candy Kisses for her girls, which would cater to the youth by offering purses, shades, bracelets, as well as their own lip-gloss line. Unfortunately, she was struck down before these plans were completed.

Because of the tragic way, she left. Her children will suffer lots of trauma for years to come and will no doubt require therapy. However, we ask that you as a community come together with our family and consider the fact that her children still dwell here amongst us and we must continue to care for their wellbeing while they grieve the loss of their mother. They are now in the care of others and no longer in the comfort of their own home, which is now considered a crime scene. Although the children is in the care of family, it can be financially difficult to suddenly have to care for five children as they will need clothing, food , shelter, hygiene products, diapers and funds for therapy. Therefore, I ask that you donate what you can to assist while they continue to grieve and to assist in eliminating any additional stresses in their young lives. Any amount is welcomed, as we understand the state of our nation due to COVID 19.

Thank you for all who give, thanks for all who pray and thanks for all who want to give and cannot. Please continue to keep us in your unwavering prayers.

The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

 (Psalms 34:18)
