MAGNOLIA VILLAGE- PLEASE HELP!
Dear Community Members,
We are asking for your help in raising funds to support the legal fees to oppose the planned development on the corner of Magnolia and Estelle. We strongly support the development of the parcel and hope that this site, which has been unoccupied for the last 10 years, can be developed reasonably with the community's best interest in mind. Unfortunately, the project proposed by an outside builder looks to exploit recent state laws intended to help stimulate affordable housing. This project is extremely dense, ridiculously tall, doesn't come close to fitting in our quaint town, and poses parking and safety issues.
Only 4 of the proposed 20 units will be below market rate and only 2 will be "affordable".
In order to file an appeal with the city council of Larkspur we have had to commission independent traffic studies, a parking survey, a CEQA analysis, the aid of multiple experts in development and architecture in addition to legal representation. The fees for this project are rapidly mounting, and we need your help to make meaningful changes to the proposed plans!
Please consider any donation you can make. Without your help, this project is likely to be approved and forever change the nature of our community.
UPDATE FROM CHAD SOLTER--- We will be using these funds to directly pay the attorney who helped us fight this appeal. Thanks so much to those that have supported this cause.
