Magnolia House Maintenance Fund

Magnolia House is a long running community space and DIY music and performance venue in Charlottesville, VA. (
The house is 108 years old and has been a showspace for a decade, with a long history as a community space before that. It has provided a much needed space for certain genres and amazing touring and local acts that otherwise would not have a home in Charlottesville. A lack of traditional landlord allows it to function with the freedom needed to be a DIY space but also leaves many necessary repairs to be paid for out of pocket by the residents of the house and labor is provided well below cost by generous friends and community members. These funds will go to cover recent and near future repairs, compensate fairly for their time and hard work those who have provided labor, provide new mic cables and, if we reach our full goal, powered speakers for our PA system which will improve sound at shows.

We have made the following repairs in 2018: fixed several leaks, installed new modern sink upstairs to replace original sink that was leaking, installed new toilet. The following repairs need to be made: patch walls and install new windows in show room, install new radiator to replace old one that exploded (will provide heat in downstairs where the shows are).
