Hi my name is Clare and this is the story of our monthly club for adults with additional needs -based in Maghull, Liverpool.

Since 2002, Mike and Viv have run Maghull Young Adults Social Club (MYASC), which provides a monthly Friday night disco for young adults with learning disabilities in Maghull and the surrounding areas. This club allows young adults to make new friends, socialize, take part in prize giving, and to generally have fun in a nice and safe environment. Having been a member for over 15 years, the club has not only helped and transformed the lives and confidence of many people including myself, but I have also seen through my own eyes, how it has helped change the lives of others.

The club is held in Maghull on the last Friday of every month. Currently we only charge £1 entry but with overheads constantly rising, this is becoming more and more difficult to fund and sustain for these vulnerable adults. We try to provide buffets, halloween theme parties etc.

We are asking for any donations, however big or small, to keep this club running for another 23 years! We don't wish to place overhead costs upon our adults with additional needs as we don't want anyone who attends to feel they cannot afford a price increase.

To conclude, I would like to personally thank Michael and Viv for all they have done for me and the other MYASC members, past, present and future, and also for their well deserved achievement.
