Maeve & Eamonn's Charity Skydive
Donation protected
Hello there! We are Maeve and Eamonn. On 17th March 2023, we will be taking part in a Charity Skydive to raise funds for two great charities: Children's Heartbeat Trust and Cara-Friend.
MAEVE'S STORY
Fundraising for Children's Heartbeat Trust
Hi there. My name is Maeve McAteer. On the 17th of March this year, my nephew and I have decided to jump out of a plane to do a tandem skydive for charity. What else would I do to celebrate my 50th birthday??
My chosen charity is the Children's Heartbeat Trust as they provide accommodation for parents of sick children at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. It is a fantastic facility and one we were very grateful for when our son Patrick was very ill.
We've chosen to do the skydive on the 17th March, as this was Patrick's Christening Date. Patrick would have been 18 this year.
Please give generously to this wonderful charity as the services they provide have been, and continue to be a source of comfort and support to many families.
Find out more about the work they do here.
EAMONN'S STORY
Fundraising for Cara-Friend
Hi! My name is Eamonn Cassidy and this year I'm hitting the big 3-0. To commemorate the occasion, my lovely (and maybe a bit bonkers) Aunt Maeve asked me if I'd join her in a skydive to raise money for a charity (so maybe I'm a bit bonkers too!).
I've chosen to raise funds for Cara-Friend, a charity which provides a wide variety of services for the LGBTQIA+ community, such as inclusivity and awareness training for schools, educators and businesses, youth services, one-to-one support, family and parent support and helpline services. I've chosen to support this charity because as a teacher and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I fully understand the importance of their services, and their amazing work has resonated with me!
You can find out more about this fantastic charity here!
Thank you all for your support!
Please note that we are paying for the skydive ourselves and all funds raised will be shared between both chosen charities.
