Madi and Baby Girl Thornton

On Sunday August 24th 2025, north of Melbourne, 33 year old William Thornton was killed in a car crash.

A victim of a senseless road crime, in which he was hit head on by a speeding stolen vehicle, Will leaves behind his parents, sister and wife Madi, who is due to give birth to their first child, a baby girl in mere weeks.

Will married Madi, last year in Fitzroy Melbourne after meeting in 2017. Madi is a retired Australian Paralympic swimmer and veterinary nurse, whose family have travelled from WA to be with her.

We have started this gofundme to raise money to ease the financial burden Madi, and Will's family now face. In the midst of such unimaginable tragedy, there is little one can do, but we ask that you consider any donation, big or small, to help Madi and Will's family.

All donations will go towards funeral costs, lost wages, household and living adjustments, support, and helping Madi and the family welcome Baby Girl Thornton into the world with as much love as possible during this time.
