The past few months have been filled with so many unanswered questions, lots of pain and unbearable heartbreak for the Young family.
Madelyn has been a really sick little girl and despite multiple tests and multiple doctors, they were unable to find out why until recently. They finally received a diagnosis after opting for genetic testing and received the worst news any parents could ask for. Madelyn has been diagnosed with an extremely rare progressive brain disease that has approximately 50 documented cases worldwide. Due to how rare it is, there are still many questions that will go unanswered but, what is known is that there is no cure and time with her is limited. Ryan and Laura are keeping her comfortable and holding her closely as they wait for her to gain her angel wings. What a beautiful angel she will be.
Ryan and Laura can not say enough good things about the teams they have at SickKids hospital, as well as the comfort of home at the Ronald McDonald House Toronto.
Contributing to this fund would help to alleviate some of the costs associated with their stay in Toronto, bills, etc. but, also with the hope of making a donation in tribute to Madelyn to these facilities and to help fight rare diseases like hers. Their little girl will gain her angel wings soon but, her spirit will live on forever.
