Maddi's Dry July for Food Insecurity
Donation protected
This year I am participating in Dry July.
Through my studies in the past 18 months I have gained awareness of food insecurity as a major issue in many Aussie homes. Food insecurity in Australia is largely caused by structural violence perpetuating poverty in our country. In addition to this the cost of living crisis and housing insecurity adds to the pressures felt by struggling Aussies.
St Jude's church in Brighton has a community pantry and provides a weekly meal for local people facing food insecurity. $1000 allows the church to provide community meals for a whole month. It is my aim to raise funds to support the continuation of this service. Please support my Dry July campaign by donating what you can through the link below.
Alternatively Brighton Woolies has a collection bin for direct food donations to the St Jude's pantry, please stop by and give what you can.
As I already don't really drink, instead of giving up alcohol I will be giving up coffee this July. As a uni student and coffee addict this will be arguably harder so please support me in my effort to raise funds for those in need.
