My name is Maddie Wilson and I am one of the current students in the Team Academy. We need your help to raise money for future backpacking trips!

What is Team:

The Team Academy is a one of a kind public school alternative, outdoor education program. It runs out of Archie Williams High School. It is an experiential learning model that combines the following: Backpacking, hiking, community service, internships, rock climbing, wilderness medicine, and academic courses in a cohort model environment. It is the ONLY public school program of its kind.

Friends of the Team Program is a non-profit that helps support Team so we can keep backpacking year after year. This year we DOUBLED in size and we need your help to keep Teamies backpacking for years to come.

Here’s what Team has meant to me, mentally and physically it has saved my life. My cousin died before we could do team together and she left a huge hole in my heart after she passed away. Team gave me the community and a safe space to allow myself to feel happy and comfortable again in my own body and my head, as well as in school in general. Team has offered not just me but everyone a chance of a feeling of family with my peers in team.

I’m raising money for senior year trips and to help all future Team classes keep backpacking.

Our school district does not pay for any of our trips. We must fundraise for all gear, wilderness guides, transportation, permits and more! We couldn’t do this without your support. We hope to keep Team alive for decades to come and can only do it with your support. KEEP TEAMIES BACKPACKING and help us to continue to grow and gain infinite wisdom from the wild!
