Hi!
My name is Maddie and in December 2025, I will be going to Madagascar with Teen Missions. While I am there, we will be working to support a really amazing local organisation called Thrive Madagascar.
Why I am going to Madagascar:
I decided to join Teen Missions and go to Madagascar because it is an opportunity to:
- Join a team and help people who are less fortunate than me
- Grow stronger and more confident in my own faith, while also sharing God's goodness with others in practical helpful ways
- Learn about and serve people who are working hard to provide opportunities like food, shelter and education to some of the most disadvantaged people of Madagascar
What will I be doing there?
To begin with, from 13 December, I will spending a week at a boot camp in QLD where I will meet my team and prepare for the trip. We will learn the skills required to live without modern amenities such as running water. We will also prepare children's ministry and learn construction skills that we will use when we are in Madagascar.
On the 22 December we leave for Madagascar. In Madagascar, I will be spending time with a local not-for-profit called "Thrive Madagascar". We will help Thrive Madagascar with children's ministry and construction work. Visit thrivemadagascar.org.au to find out more about the amazing work that they do.
I will return home on the 23 January...just in time for the beginning of Term 1 of school.
