As many of you know The Mad Lady II capsized off of Hog Island on 7/17/18 while on its way to Englehardt to get out of a storm. Captain Kenny Rustick and Mate Will Grant were aboard. Weather conditions permitted the USCG from going out until this morning. Wildlife and Marine Fisheries launched but found nothing until morning. The shrimping vessel was found capsized early this morning with no crew on board 7/18. Nothing short of a miracle they found both Kenny and Will alive and they were air lifted to Elizabeth City for medical evaluations. If you know Kenny, you know this is his livelyhood, and he takes great pride in his boat and his profession. He gives so much of his time in this community to help others, and volunteers with commercial fishing organizations. Now its our turn to help our fellow fisherman in need!
