Macon Community Fridge

Donation protected

Macon Community Fridge is a Community fridge located at Steward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church located in Downtown Macon, Georgia (887 Forsyth St)

Inspired by Free99fridge located in Atlanta, Georgia, Macon community fridge is a mutual aid initiative aimed to combat food insecurity and reduce food waste. Macon community fridge allows community members to have access to Free and Healthy food — 24/7.

After the official opening on March 27, 2021, Macon community fridge will start accepting food donations from the community. After our soft open a month ago, there have been roughly $2,000 worth of food given out to community members in need. After our official opening, we hope to continue to grow and fight food insecurity in the community while also reducing food waste through food donations.

Together, we can make this happen! Macon Community Fridge needs community support to keep the fridge stocked with delicious and healthy food for our community members.

If you are unable to donate money and would like to help, we accept food donations that meet our sharing guidelines (below).
