Help Honor a WWII Hero with a Helicopter Ride for His 98th Birthday
Last year, during one of my weekly trips to Costco, I met an incredible man—Mack. He was sitting in the food court wearing a World War II veteran hat, and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to introduce myself and thank him for his service. That conversation led to a friendship I will cherish forever.
Mack is a quiet man, but when he shares his stories, you can’t help but be amazed. At just 17 years old, he landed on the beaches of Iwo Jima as a Navy Corpsman in February 1945. His memory is sharp, and his experiences are nothing short of heroic.
Over the past year, I’ve spent time helping him around his property—blowing leaves, cutting wood, and just sitting and listening to his incredible life stories. Through it all, one thing stuck with me: out of everything he has done in his lifetime, he told me he has never had the chance to ride in a helicopter.
I want to change that.
I have been fortunate to connect with someone who owns a military helicopter, and I would love to surprise Mack with his very first helicopter ride—along with a well-deserved birthday celebration as he turns 98 this April.
Mack has given so much to our country, and this is a small way to show our gratitude. If you feel moved to contribute, any amount will help make this dream a reality for a true American hero.
Thank you for your support, and God bless America!
