Maccies Without Malice - Happy Meals For All

Donation protected
After Lee Anderson’s horrendous demonisation of parents who both use food banks and dare to take their kids to McDonald’s 2-3 times a week (allegedly), we’ve now funded a big Maccies lunch for up to 70 kids at a local food bank in Southend, and we’re taking this across the UK.

UPDATE: We’ve now funded thirty foodbanks all over the UK so they can provide Happy Meals for kids in families who use their services. Onwards and upwards!

Our mate 30p Lee was discussing people ‘abusing food banks,’ and he said, “One particular family I was helping, really helping, and they were going to the food bank two or three times a week to get their groceries and then, you know, I see them in McDonald’s two or three times a week.”

We’ve now put a process in place for food banks and similar organisations to apply for funding for Happy Meals - put simply, the more that we raise, the more food banks we can help with these treats. After all, they haven’t made it illegal to use food banks and get kids a Happy Meal … yet. Food banks can request funding here. I am also more than happy to hear from any UK organisations looking after migrant children / families.

Here are three of the places with kids who have benefitted so far - The One Love Project in Southend-On-Sea, Lifeline Against The Breadline in Doncaster, and Friends Of Isaac’s Food Bank in Redditch.

We’ve been featured in Mr Anderson’s local paper here
