Thanks for checking out my gofundmepage! To raise money for the great Neurosciences Research Foundation I will be competing in Ironman 70.3 which consists of:

Swimming 1.9km

Cycling 90km

Running 21.1km

Training 6 days a week throughout the winter and spring months to complete a 4-8 hour triathlon in the hills and sea of Mallorca.

Why this madness Maarten, you ask?

To raise money for the Neurosciences Research Foundation!

As some of you may know this is a Foundation close to my heart as my mother was treated at St George’s Hospital for a stroke which she ultimately passed away from six years ago. We need more research in this field, and subsequently more funding. Your money will help and go a long way to getting better insight into how we can deal with the sudden onset of a stroke. The foundation funds the wonderful doctors at St. George’s to be able to facilitate this research.
