Help a Family Rebuild After Devastating Fire

Hello everyone, I feel that our Lord has given me a mission. This mission is to help this family, which are my neighbors, who haven’t been in the US for more than 2 years. The father is the only provider since Mom just had a beautiful baby girl, who was born premature with respiratory problems and stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks after coming into the world! When I met them, they moved 4 doors down from me and had NOTHING. At that time, she just had a boy and girl, 9 & 11, without a single toy, no furniture, housewares, etc. I helped them with some money to buy some necessary things (it wasn’t much), but kids should be ignorant of life issues; they are just to be kids, that’s it.

After that, Hurricane Milton came and flooded our homes with over 2 feet of water. We all live in a townhome. At this time, her mom and dad just got here from Cuba to support her since now she’s pregnant! But after asking for help, like everyone did, FEMA denied the initial claim. I helped her appeal, and she was granted an inspection. But when they set her up with inspections, she went into early birth, having a baby premature. This caused her case to get closed because she didn’t comply with the inspection. Now, again, we pleaded with them to please reopen her case. They did, and finally, they approved her.

A bit of relief, right? No! Yesterday, her home caught fire! Yes, FIRE… after a short circuit in her laundry room, which, by the way, had stored ALL the diapers and baby gifts from the baby shower. They lost EVERYTHING in their home. EVERYTHING! When I saw the fire, I was devastated. I took all her family into my home, while Dad went into the smoke-filled home more than 4 times. On one occasion, he saved his father-in-law's life, who couldn’t find his way out with all the black smoke. He fell down the stairs, and Dad grabbed him in the darkness, breathing all this smoke, and dragged him out! Father-in-law is still hospitalized from the fall. Dad now has inhaled so much smoke he’s spitting black. The Red Cross acted immediately and escalated their case, sending him to the hospital together with Father-in-law!

I’m reaching out to anyone and everyone to help this family! Nothing is too small! Remember, they are staying in a hotel, all 7 of them in one room. The head of the household, the only provider, hasn’t been to work yet! Through this platform, I would like you to help. They need clothes, essentials, baby needs everything: diapers, wipes, clothing, you name it. The adults have no clothes… let’s take a load off; they’ve been through so much. What I did notice is that they were still loving and caring, all looking out for each other and haven’t lost their faith, and they are in good spirits… I now ask, please help!
