California Fire Victim

PARADISE LOST:    The "Camp" fire is still burning up in Paradise, Ca.  It used to be a beautiful community in the Sierra foothills about 90 miles northeast of Sacramento.   It was a mining town during the gold rush years.  When I lived there, I always heard that if a fire ever broke out in the canyons, the winds would force it up both sides of the ridge and it would be catastrophic.  Our worst fears came true on Friday.  Paradise has been destroyed by fire.   Businesses, schools, and too many homes to count are all gone.  People have died and many are still missing.

My sister, Karen, is one of many who have been affected by this horrible fire.  She used to live in a tiny home to the left of the driveway in the photo below.  When the fire broker out early in the morning, she didn't have time to pack anything.  She escaped with her dog and the clothes on her back, and is thankful to have made it out.

My mom and I are both trying to do what we can long distance, but we could sure use some help.    We'd like to make it possible for her to get back on her feet and start over, although it's going to be a long process.  All the proceeds will be used for finding a place to live, a bed, clothing, etc.  Whatever you can donate to help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
