Rodrigo Sanchez help to fund surgeries

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Sofia Sanchez. I am raising money for my father for a surgery, possibly 2. My dad, Rodrigo, had a surgery on his left foot in March 2021. He was suppose to be walking and back to work within four to six weeks. That did not happen. Three weeks after the surgery, it was evident that my dad was not healing properly. He was in excruciating pain, and the pain medications were not working. He was told that as a result of the surgery, he got a RARE disease called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, (CRPS) also nicknamed "the suicide disease". It has that nickname because of the intense, excruciating pain, all day long, and because it can leave you, like in my dad's case, bedridden. He went from walking one day to being bedridden the next. Now, his life revolves around being in a bed all day long and doctors appointments.

My mom had to quit her job in June of this year to take care of my dad full time. Because she quit her job, she gave up all of her benefits. She could not file for unemployment benefits or for the family leave act. To say the least, this has been a huge financial burden for my parents.

The reason that I am starting this GoFundMe account is because my dad wants to do a surgery that his insurance company or the Veterans Administration will not pay for. They will not pay for it because the technique that the doctor uses is not yet accepted as a cure for CRPS, even though there are many testimonials from people stating that it does. Every doctor that my dad has seen for the last 8 months has told him he has to learn to live with the pain and that there is no cure for CRPS. One doctor, Dr. Tim Tollestrup, has told my dad that he could help him significantly with his CRPS and possibly make it go away, so that he could live a normal life again. My dad has chosen to believe this doctor. If this surgery works, my dad could be a testimony for many other people who suffer with this disease, and give them hope.

I want my dad to laugh again. To be able to do normal everyday things again, like going for a walk, fishing, playing with his grandchildren, and hopefully going back to work. But most of all I want my dad to live without the excruciating pain that he endures every single day.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
