Luka's Eagle Scout Project at Brunner Elem School

Hello friends of Scouting and reading.

My name is Luka Culjak. I am a Boy Scout from Troop 104 in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. I am currently working towards my Eagle Scout rank. To anyone who isn’t familiar with the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the Eagle Scout rank is one of the highest honors a scout can receive. One of the most important requirements to attain this rank is the planning and executing a service project, that benefits the community.

I am hoping to raise funds to purchase materials and supplies for my project. This is the reason why I have launched GoFundMe page. My goal is to build a reading bench, little library, and improve Children’s Garden at Brunner Elementary School in Scotch Plains, NJ.

Students of Brunner Elementary School will benefit from the reading bench and little library by having a selection of free children’s books to read and enjoy while taking a break from play. My project will require purchase of materials necessary to build and install bench and library, as well as, gardening materials to enhance Children’s Garden with new plants and mulch.

Even though I have saved some funds I would appreciate if you can contribute to this large undertaking. My goal for this project is to raise $1,200. This will cover the costs of materials (wood, stain, gravel, mulch, plants, etc), as well as the rental and purchase of tools and supplies. I am hoping to raise funds now so that I can build the little library in time for the next school year.
