Lucy's Operation Fund
Hello! Thank you for your interest in our story.
Sagittal Craniosynostis
We are the Miller's from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Our 5 month old daughter, Lucy was born with severe Sagittal Craniosynostosis which is when the bones in a baby’s skull join together prematurely. Because of this, she was born with an elongated and misshapen head. If not surgically fixed, it can cause problems later on in life. As her brain grows it has to grow forward and backward which can
cause pressure on her brain.
The Surgery
She is scheduled for a Total Cranial Vault Reshaping surgery on September 15th, 2020 at 8AM at Saskatoon Royal University Hospital. This will be a three hour minimum surgery done by two neurosurgeons. The estimated length of her hospital stay will be 5 to 9 nights with the first two nights spent in the PICU.
About Lucy
Lucy is our little ray of sunshine. She was born on March 18th, 2020 in Moose
Jaw, SK weighing a tiny 6lb 15oz. She may be small but she is strong-willed and
feisty. She has a contagious smile, adorable giggle and beautiful, big blue eyes. If you spend any amount of time with her you will surely experience a loving smile from our girl. She is full of joy and hardly ever fusses; she loves to cuddle and people watch. She is fascinated with her older brother Benjamin and loves to play and giggle with him. She is strong and brave and we know that she will fight through this surgery and recovery.
We are beyond blessed to have had this sweet, little girl join our family.
We are asking for $3000 which will cover the cost of a hotel for 9 nights, food,
gas, childcare for our two-year-old son and a loss of wages. We run our own
business and the time away from work will put a huge financial stress on our
family let alone the emotional stress we will be dealing with. It will also cover the cost of the additional follow up appointment(s) in Saskatoon.
We are beyond thankful and blessed for all who choose to support Lucy and our family whether through donation or prayer.
