Lucy is a rescue dog who was placed in a permanent home after being adopted. In this environment, she had consistent access to shelter, food, and veterinary care, and was able to live in a stable and safe setting with her adoptive family. Lucy is deeply loved by our family and especially by our three children, including one with special needs. She provides constant companionship, comfort, and a sense of security. She is gentle, affectionate, and protective, always staying close to the kids. Lucy loves to play fetch, and her favorite toy is her Stitch stuffed animal. Her presence brings stability, joy, and emotional support. Lucy sustained significant burn injuries in a household accident and is currently in critical condition in the ICU. She requires continuous monitoring, pain management, wound care, and supportive treatment. Her condition remains serious, and ongoing intensive veterinary care is necessary. She has been admitted since yesterday at the Veterinary Healthcare Associates hospital in Winter Haven, FL Lucy’s medical care is extensive and urgent.
