1,000 Hours of Hula Hooping in 1,000 Days to Raise 10,000 Euros!

Hi! My name is Lucinda Muschialli and I am doing a 1,000 Hour Hula Hooping challenge to raise money for the Church of Saints Donato and Clemente, a wonderful historic church in the small town of Germasino, in the north of Italy. Germasino is where my Australian-Italian husband’s family originally come from, and it is a truly magical place, nestled in the mountains overlooking Lake Como.

Mi chiamo Lucinda Muschialli e sto partecipando a una sfida di 1.000 ore di Hula Hoop per raccogliere fondi per la Chiesa dei Santi Donato e Clemente, una meravigliosa chiesa storica nel piccolo paese di Germasino, nel nord Italia. Germasino è il luogo di origine della famiglia di mio marito, italo-australiano, ed è un luogo davvero magico, incastonato tra le montagne che si affacciano sul Lago di Como.

A Beautiful and Historic Church in Need of Urgent Restoration Work

St. Donato and St. Clemente’s Church was built between the 15th and the 17th centuries. Inside the church there are beautiful frescoes and paintings dedicated to Mary, as well as a marble altar dating back to 1802. This beautiful church is in desperate need of restoration work. Una Chiesa Bellissima e Storica che Necessita di Urenti Lavori di Restauro

La chiesa di San Donato e San Clemente fu costruita tra il XV e il XVII secolo. Al suo interno si trovano splendidi affreschi e dipinti dedicati a Maria, oltre a un altare marmoreo risalente al 1802. Questa splendida chiesa ha un disperato bisogno di restauri. Ogni donazione che vorrete fare sarà ben accetta, grazie di cuore!

A Statue With A Sad Story

The church is also home to a beautiful statue of Christ, which has a wonderful but very sad history. On 30 March 1925, our relation Marcello Muschialli fell from a tree and died the same day. His brother Antonio took the branch from the tree and carved this wonderful statue, which is paraded around the streets of Germasino every Good Friday.

Una Statua con una Storia Triste

La chiesa ospita anche una bellissima statua di Cristo, la cui storia è meravigliosa ma molto triste. Il 30 marzo 1925, il nostro parente Marcello Muschialli cadde da un albero e morì lo stesso giorno. Suo fratello Antonio prese il ramo dall'albero e scolpì la statua meravigliosa, che viene portata in processione per le vie di Germasino ogni Venerdì Santo.
