Dear Family and Friends,
I'm so excited! I've been accepted into CIEE's Children's Rights Program in Legon, Ghana. I will go to Ghana for three weeks this summer to work with an NGO dedicated to helping disadvantaged children.
The NGO I will be working with is the Future Leaders Underprivileged Children’s Center (UCC), which prepares out-of-school children to join the formal educational system. I will be teaching at-risk children, ages 4 to 15, and coaching sports.
My dream is to become a doctor who specializes in treating and working with children with special needs. In the fall I will be starting a soccer team at my school for my classmates with special needs. I hope this trip to Ghana will help me better understand the challenges that kids face when living in poverty and without the support system that I grew up with.
I hope you will help me make it to Ghana by contributing to my gofundeme campaign! The funds will help pay for the cost of the program and airfare to Ghana.
