Greetings, my name is Lucas Zhou and I am a member of Troop 136 of Sacramento, California. I have been in the Boy Scouts of America for almost over a decade, the program being an important part of who I am today. I am working towards the goal of being an Eagle Scout, with one of it’s requirements being to plan and carry out an Eagle Scout Service Project.

An Eagle Scout service project is defined as an opportunity that allows the scout to demonstrate his/her abilities of planning, leadership and teamwork that they have learned over their course of being a scout and apply it to improve the community.

My Eagle Scout service project would entail assembling and installing a plastic playground border on the grounds of the Riverside United Methodist church, filling it with woodchips as well as constructing and installing a swing frame from pressure treated lumber. All funds donated would be put towards the cost of materials as well as any additional expenses that may arise. Volunteers would be sourced both from Troop 136 and people outside Scouting. The deadline of fundraising would be August 21. Any amount that you can donate is greatly appreciated.
