Luca Foster’s Medulloblastoma journey

Luca is a 10 year old boy who has lived an active healthy life up until April/May 2021
Luca played football every weekend for his team and if he wasn’t playing football on the pitch he’d be playing with his cousins in the garden!
Luca started having random bouts of sickness, which then turned into daily sickness (mostly mornings) doctors didn’t know what was wrong with Luca and initially suggested reflux.
Luca continued being sick and also began having headaches. Luca was prescribed anti biotics and reassured numerous times from the hospital that there was nothing to worry about. In July this continued however Luca began being so dizzy he couldn’t walk without holding onto something, after demanding the doctors finally scanned Luca and that’s when we was hit with the devastating news that our nephew/grandson, my brothers son Luca was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour called Medulloblastoma. Luca underwent 15 hour surgery and recovered amazingly. Following further MRI scans we was hit with the heartbreaking news that cancer cells had spread to his spine.
Luca is currently undergoing 6 weeks of high dose Radiotherapy which will follow with high dose Chemotherapy.
This is something that you never expect to happen to your family and has been the hardest and darkest times of our life’s. We are in awe of of how strong and brave he’s been battling his illness and dealing with the treatment so far.
What the future holds for Luca we don’t know but we will remain positive throughout this whole process. The aim is still to cure it and this is what we will hold onto.
We are setting this GoFundMe page up for the Foster side of the family. There is no target goal as we just want to enjoy and treat Luca to some amazing experiences.
