It all started in December 2024, on social media. An almost chance encounter between Nilton, a skater in Luanda, Angola and I, Philippe, a skater in Switzerland.

Nilton told me about a project close to his heart: keeping a local skatepark alive, a place where young people from the neighborhood could come to play sports, stay busy, and connect with each other.

The problem is that in Angola, getting hold of skate gear is a real challenge. So I offered to help.

A first package left from Switzerland. Then a second. Then a third. As the shipments continued, the project grew: John from Abu, a Swiss distributor, joined the project to provide new equipment and began donating gear.

Today, we want to take this to the next level. This fundraiser will let us:

•⁠ ⁠*Keep sending new equipment* from Switzerland, despite high postal costs

•⁠ ⁠*Cover the skatepark's monthly costs*: water, snacks, small supplies

•⁠ ⁠*Organize events* on site to keep the place alive and bring young people together

What Nilton does there is remarkable. He carries this project on his own shoulders, as a volunteer, to give the young people of Luanda a place of their own, where sport becomes a tool for education and connection. It's time to support him a little better in that commitment.
