This GoFundMe was created in response to the incredible outpouring of support from the South Boston community and beyond following the traumatic robbery of David and Juliette Byrne's lemonade stand at gunpoint. The Byrne Family was initially reluctant to create a GoFundMe, but the overwhelming encouragement from friends, neighbors, and supporters made it clear that people wanted a way to help. The Lower End Lemonade Stand was established as a way to help David and Juliette reclaim what was taken from them—not just financially, but emotionally and symbolically. What began as a frightening and heartbreaking experience has inspired a community-wide effort to transform fear into resilience, kindness, and hope.
Every donation helps support David and Juliette while also honoring the spirit of the lemonade stands they love to run. In keeping with that spirit, 50% of all proceeds will be donated to local South Boston organizations that enrich the lives of children and families, including Kickoff 4 Kids, The Ollie Neighborhood House, Gatey CYO, City Kids FC, and the Tynan Community Council.
Please consider purchasing a cup of virtual lemonade. Whether you buy one cup or one hundred, every contribution helps support David and Juliette as they recover from this traumatic experience and helps turn an act of fear into an act of community. Together, we can show David and Juliette that they are surrounded by neighbors, friends, and supporters who care deeply and stand firmly behind them. Thank you for helping turn a traumatic event into something positive, powerful, and lasting.
