Loving on Sarah

Hey everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

As most of you probably know, Sarah's dad (Ted Fleischer) was admitted to the ICU in London on Monday of this past week. A father, friend, and perhaps part of your lives, he was always a funny and well meaning man. Though his health did not precede him, Ted was strong through the amputation of both his legs due to diabetes and other complications. He and Sarah have always been close, and Sarah looks out for her dad in incredible ways. She is power of attorney for him, along with her uncle (Ted's brother). Recently, Ted had a heart attack, and now 70% of his upper heart muscle is non-functional. He is currently in an induced coma, and the doctor's do not feel he will be able to recover. Sarah and her family met with the doctors today, and determined they will not end life support for him for another week. At that point, they will reconvene to determine whether his quality of life will be good enough to insist that he stays on life support. Currently, due to an infection in his lungs and pancreas, as well as issues with his kidneys and his overall health, Ted would not be a candidate for a heart transplant. Due to lack of oxygen to his brain, there may be some limited functioning, and he would likely need to live in an assisted living community due to his fragile state of life. It is such a hard situation to be in, and it is difficult to know what to do.

In the meantime, Sarah is grieving and is quite stressed as you can imagine. This is taking a significant toll on her. For those of you who know Sarah, you know that she is a sweet, hard working, beautiful person, inside and out. She constantly shows that she cares for others, and even adopted an adorable old dog that was going to be put down (Baylee). Sarah is currently working two jobs to make ends meet, however her work is not being very compromising during this hard time for her, and she expressed that finances are tight.

Caitlin and I were talking earlier, and we would like to come together to donate some funds towards helping Sarah pay her rent or lessen some of her financial burden over the next few weeks, as things may become hard for her and her family. We all know Sarah has a huge heart, and would jump at the chance to help one of us when we were in need, so we are hoping to give back to her in a simple yet meaningful way. We are not asking for any specific amount, but just that if you feel led to give, you may do so. If you find that you are not in a current circumstance where giving money is available, we completely understand and we know that your best interests for Sarah are still there in heart.

Also, please pray for her family (her mom, brothers, and her aunt/uncle and their cousins) that they may feel strength, peace, and ultimately the courage and direction from God during this hard time. Please pray for healing and for God's will to be done. Anything your heart or mind guides you to do is appreciated for her during this time.

It is as simple as that. I am going to set up a GO FUND ME, and you will be able to go to the page to donate anonymously or by name if you so wish, and by December 16th we are hoping to have the money collected to present to her. Car payments, house payments, travelling to and from London, all cost money, and when you are not working due to a family emergency, it can be really hard to juggle.

Thank you for reading all this and for considering a small benevolent donation for Sarah. She deserves it.

*please invite those who are not included but may want to be a part of this*
