On November 24, 2018 Wendy Martinez, 45 turning 46 on Tuesday, was taken from her family and loved ones. She was brutally killed in the comfort of her own home in The Bronx; Grand Concourse. A place where both her and her two sons resided. A place they believed they’d be safe in a world so cold and cruel. She was shot through the peephole of her apartment door.
Her 15 year old son, Alexander Angulo, witnessed his own mother fall to the ground in front of his very eyes. In complete fear for his life he sat in the closet till police arrived. No 15 year old deserves to witness such a vicious attack, especially on his own mother. She was taken away from him and all of us way too soon. Alexander Angulo, a sophomore and honor student at KIPP NYC College Prep, and a kind soul has been fortunate enough to receive an abundance of love and support from family, friends and neighbors.
Wendy Martinez was my aunt, but much more like a second mother to me. We’ve made this GoFundMe in hopes of giving Wendy Martinez (who dedicated her life to working at Lincoln Hospital, being an astonishing friend to many, a supporter for all her family members, and especially being a proud mother) by having Kimberly Martinez being solely responsible for withdrawing the funds from the campaign and overseeing the delivery of funds to Wendy's children outside of GoFundMe, who she loved and cared for dearly to keep them safe . No family deserves to go through such pain and horror during the holidays. Thank you for all the prayers and love we have been receiving. May we find justice and clarity. God has gained yet another Angel.
