Love to hardworking vet staff
Donation protected
We've heard a lot about people who have had their lives disrupted by COVID-19. I've seen stories of fundraising for bartenders, restaurant workers and teachers. All these people deserve all the help they can get, but I'd like to add another group to the list: Veterinary technicians.
I am a vet in Austin, Texas and many of my technicians are dealing with the fallout of COVID-19. These hardworking, empathetic people have had their hours cut due to COVID-19, and have increasingly dealt with understandably frustrated clients and difficult situations on a daily basis. All of the money we raise will be divided equally among the technicians for them to use to stay afloat amidst the problems facing them every day.
I know it's a hard time for everyone, and I understand if you can't help right now, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try, and it might give them a boost in a singularly strange and difficult time. They work very hard, and are kind, wonderful people. I see them regularly stay late to discuss cases or console clients, or come in on weekends to deal with cash-strapped clients to help a kitty with a good prognosis.
If you are able to help at all it would go a long way to making them feel appreciated, and I'd be hugely grateful for your help. They deserve to be supported in this hard time, and whatever you can do to help would make a world of difference to them and to me. Thanks so much for thinking about donating. I appreciate anything you can do to help make their lives just a little bit easier.
