Musicians from across the country will pay tribute to artists who passed in 2021 by performing covers during a virtual concert to be broadcast on both Facebook and YouTube Tuesday February 15th at 8pm. Artists performing will include Blind Melon’s Travis T. Warren, Natalie Carr (named Charlotte’s Best Live Performer of 2021), and concert organizer, Justin Fedor, among many others. Audiences can expect covers of songs from The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, ZZ Top, DMX, Christopher Plummer & beyond.
Roof Above is an interfaith nonprofit with the mission of uniting the community to end homelessness, one life at a time. The organization’s vision is that every person has the safety, stability, and dignity of home. The organization operates a day services center, two year-round shelters, a nightly shelter, more than 500 units of supportive housing, as well as a treatment program for substance use disorders. Created in 2013 by local musician, Justin Fedor, Tribute To Benefit is a bi-annual concert held at Neighborhood Theatre that has raised money for Levine Children’s Hospital since inception. With the support of MaxxMusic and drumSTRONG: Drums for Cures, Tribute To Benefit puts on themed concerts showcasing Charlotte’s best in original music performing covers with their own twist. During 2020 & 2021, as most of the music world hit pause, Fedor created several virtual concerts including the Love Thy Neighbor concert which raised over $30,000 for Roof Above. Can we top that this year? We sure hope so!
