Losing Pueo was like losing part of myself. She was my shadow, my comfort, and my home. When she died, it felt like an amputation. I could feel her, and hear her but she wasn’t there. And in that silence, I began to write. One essay became another, and then another, until I realized I was creating something bigger:
a book for anyone grieving a beloved pet.
Love, Pueo is a collection of emotional, vulnerable essays about pet loss, grief, healing, and rediscovering life after your heart breaks. It began as a blog, but I quickly realized this was more than that. I want to turn it into a book that can comfort others the way writing it comforted me.
But right now, we need help to finish it.
A few weeks ago, my husband Andrew unexpectedly lost his job, and our household income dropped overnight. At the same time, I reached the point in my book where I need to invest in things like ISBNs, design software, printing, and shipping signed paperbacks.
We want to finish Love, Pueo in a way that honors her, but we simply cannot cover the remaining costs on our own right now.
Your support will help me bring this book into the world and help us bridge a difficult gap. Publishing a book is a lifelong dream of mine that seems out of reach right now due to unforeseen circumstances.
Every dollar helps. Truly.

What This Book Means:
When I wrote the first essay about Pueo, I thought it was just something to keep me from falling apart. A few months into writing, people reached out sharing their stories and I realized how important it is to share my story on a larger scale. Pet grief is lonely, isolating, misunderstood.
This book is a hand reaching out in the dark.
A way to say: You aren’t alone. Your grief is real. Your love mattered.
I hope Love, Pueo brings comfort to anyone whose heart still aches for their Pueo.
Thank you for reading.
For caring.
For supporting us through a difficult time.
And for helping bring a book into the world that was written with every ounce of love I had left.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much.
