Love Kenya Mission
John 3:v 16. This is the first scripture I remember learning and reciting as a child. Perhaps my desire for Mission could have been birthed then.
As a teen, I remember being asked by the Educational Adviser what I wanted to be when I left school; an Evangelist, I firmly replied. Almost not knowing what it meant. But God was doing something that increasingly became a reality when I was fully converted to Christ. The light overcame the darkness of my sin, and mercy and grace found me.
John 3:v16 is a tablet that dissolves in the inner man, your spirit, and your soul. God's love reaches the lowest level; God's love found me. His love is the most compelling aspect of his nature; God is Love 1 John 4:v16.
That love is embodied in Christ and expressed through the person and power of the Holy Spirit. Love cannot help but be Missional; giving, sacrifice, pain and sorrow are all the emotions you will experience when love is in action. But joy and fulness is not far behind.
Love ❤️ Mission, Love ❤️ People, Love ❤️ Kenya is an action of Love for the nation and its people. God's love is global in its outreach, offering all forgiveness, salvation, and redemption.
As those involved in sharing the Father's heart for his creation, the nation of Kenya allows us to do several love actions. Foremost we build relationships and shared humanity; we find common ground.
The needs are vast, and poverty in some areas as prices have risen enormously. People have lost income as they have lost their jobs. While we can never meet all the needs we will encounter, we value your prayer to distribute the gifts donated and entrusted to our care wisely.
There are medical needs, food poverty, and educational needs. In 2019 Ps Lenny, Michael Ramsay, and I deposited the amount needed for the host church in Mombasa to install wi-fi. This meant children from the local area could be helped with their education by coming to the Glory Tabernacle Church.
The African child is bright, like elsewhere, and needs the opportunity. In this Love ❤️ Mission, we look out for the children; they are a worthwhile investment.
In 2019 we also accompanied the church on the streets of Mombasa with their feeding program. This was most touching; both the young and the not-so-young attended to the needy without hesitation, sitting where they sat, kneeling beside them; love acted that night, and we witnessed it in real time.
We will seek out the people group that God marks as important and places a value on widows, orphans, fugitives and the poor.
Thank you for offering us your trust; your gifts, donations, and prayers will propel us into the arena and spaces that have already opened to us. We will lovingly represent you, your name carries weight in heaven, and earth will respond. We will return from beloved Kenya with an excellent report; let love win.
