This fundraiser is to support Joshua Chu and his children, Eric (26), Valerie (16), and Kyler (9), during this unspeakably difficult time following Debi’s passing. All donations raised will help with immediate and ongoing expenses, including funeral costs, and to support Josh as he navigates life as a single father of three.

Kalpana Debi Rai lived and loved with every fiber of her being. She was spicy in every sense of the word. A phenomenal cook, she even showed her chef husband a thing or two in the kitchen. Debi was a force, always curious and always seeking adventure. Above all, she was a devoted mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend. She will be missed beyond measure.

On January 23rd, Debi passed away surrounded by her family, showered with love. She fought fiercely for her life following a tragic accident several days earlier. In an instant, Josh lost his partner and the children lost their mother, an unimaginable loss that no family should ever have to endure. We hope to wrap them in love and support during this heartbreaking time.

While we cannot take away their pain or bring Debi back, though we wish we could, we hope to help in this small but meaningful way.
