Loulou’s 10km run for Cerebral Palsy
On the 21st of July I will be running the Regents Park 10km to raise money towards Action Cerebral Palsy. For those that know me, they’ll know running isn’t something I’ve been doing for very long, so to be able to run 10km will be a personal achievement, aswell as raising money towards a special cause, close to my heart.
On Valentine’s Day 2023 my twin nephews Max and Teddy were born early at just 30 weeks, each with different health concerns, after a difficult pregnancy where it was extremely hit-and-miss whether they’d both make it.
Max, born weighing only 3lb, struggled with his breathing and suffered a bleed on the brain, resulting in him being left with cerebral palsy.
Max is yet to start crawling or sitting on his own, compared to his brother Teddy who is up and climbing into everything, but he continues to receive frequent physio sessions to assist his development and strength. My sister and her husband who also have two daughters, are doing such an amazing job navigating this journey and juggling everything else that comes with day to day life.
Action Cerebral Palsy works to improve outcomes for children and young people with cerebral palsy and their families by raising public, professional and political awareness of the condition and by lobbying for improved clinical and educational practice and provision at national and local levels. Any donation of any amount would be appreciated.
