LOUD Silent Voices - Mental Health

My name is Rashana Hydes. I am Miss World Cayman Islands 2021, and my chosen platform is Mental Health in the Cayman Islands. I chose to partner with LOUD Silent Voices because they are dedicated to making a difference in the area of mental health. LOUD Silent Voices is a family mental health support group whose three-fold aim is to:

• Support, Educate and Empower the caregivers of those persons affected by serious mental disorders to take control of their individual situations,
• Promote understanding and acceptance of those persons affected by serious mental disorders and reduce the associated stigmas and discriminations through awareness and promotional campaigns and
• Advocate for appropriate services, facilities and programs to aid in the recovery of those persons affected by serious mental disorders.

The proceeds of this Go Fund Me will be going towards:

• the funding of the assisted-living group home, which will allow mental health patients to receive the care they need to recover in a supportive environment and close to loved ones and to
• the funding of resources, support and trainings to the caregivers and the wider community to promote understanding and empower the caregivers.

I am truly passionate about raising awareness for mental health, and I look forward to continuing to work on this long after the pageant is over!
