Tyler Lavigne and his fellow scouts have spent countless hours camping and hiking throughout Arizona, creating lasting memories with family and friends. One of their favorite places is Lost Dutchman State Park, where Tyler and his family enjoyed many fun times together. Unfortunately, a fire damaged the park’s plant nature trail, destroying a bench and leaving many native plants in poor condition. The signs that once identified the plants are now crumbling and unreadable.
Determined to give back to a place that means so much to him, Tyler has worked closely with the park ranger to develop a plan for his Eagle Scout Project. His goal is to restore the trail by planting approximately 20 native Sonoran Desert plants, installing a new bench with a commemorative plaque, and replacing the worn-out signs. The funds raised will go directly toward purchasing these plants, the bench, materials for installation, soil additives, new signs, and the plaque. Any remaining funds will be donated to Lost Dutchman State Park, the Grand Canyon Council, or Troop 283 in Chandler.
Tyler’s journey in scouting began in elementary school as a cub scout with Pack 524 in Chandler, Arizona. After crossing over to Troop 283, he has spent the last six years working toward his Eagle rank, helping many fellow scouts with their own projects and forming lifelong friendships. This Eagle Project is a significant endeavor and represents the final step in his scouting journey. Any support you can offer to help Tyler fulfill his goal would be deeply appreciated. Together, we can help restore a beloved trail and inspire future scouts to follow in his footsteps.
