Losing Two Sons to Suicide and Addiction

My name is Erika and I'm fundraising to raise living expenses for my beloved friend Faustine (Frosty) Davis.

Faustine has suffered the catastrophic loss of two of her three children in the last fifteen months. She needs time to recover and the process simply unimaginable losses. Contributions will supplement her part-time teaching salary. Together let's build some time and space for grief and finding a way forward without her beloved sons.

Leland Davis, Faustine's youngest child, was a prolific painter and tattoo artist. His tragic death occurred by suicide in October 2021 at the age of 24. Fourteen months later, in December 2022, Burch, her oldest child, was home for the holidays when he died suddenly. His battle with addiction ended in relapse and overdose at age 31.

The death of one child is horrific. The death of two children is exponentially more devastating and tragic.

Frosty has been incredibly helpful to friends in their hour of need and this is an effort to send some of that love and care her way.

After raising her children in Baltimore, Frosty now lives in West Virginia with her dog and cat who help her survive and make a loving life in her home. She teaches fiber art to elementary and middle school students. During this devastating period of loss, Frosty finds comfort in quiet reflection, writing, making art and time spent outdoors in nature.

Grief is emotionally, physically and spiritually draining. Our fundraiser is a lifeline to help make ends meet and ease some of the stress in the midst of unimaginable sorrow.
