LOS ANGELES ~ #TheLittleMermaidChallenge!

“I don’t know when, I don’t know how. But I know something’s starting right now!” | The Little Mermaid Trailer

Every Black girl deserves to see themselves on the big screen. My name is Faith Blackstone, an artist but more importantly, someone who wants the world to be better for everyone, especially for little Black & Mixed girls of color like me. Ariel was always my favorite Disney princess and to see the amazing, gorgeous, and talented Halle Bailey transform into the famous whimsical tail the world knows and loves brought me IMMENSE joy. For my birthday (May 23rd), I would love nothing more than to help the wonderful Taylor Richardson, the original creator of #TheLittleMermaidChallenge, gift little girls a ticket to see The Little Mermaid this May. I wanted to bring this opportunity to the West Coast as a California girl myself. But I’ll need your support!

Give a Girl of Color a magical opportunity this May by sponsoring a girl with your donation. I'm bringing some love to the West Coast by giving 100 girls in the LA area tickets to see the world's first Black Disney mermaid, Halle Bailey in theaters! Please Donate & Share to sponsor a "Little Mermaid" by giving her an unforgettable dive "under da sea!"

YOU can Sponsor a “Little Mermaid” by donating to the cost of her ticket. Here’s what I need to take 100 mermaids to the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA this May:

~ To Sponsor one girl: $29 (child ticket + concessions) at El Capitan Theatre (for 100 girls = $2,900 total)

Your Donation also helps cover these costs:

~ $264 for 10 chaperones + Me! :-) ($24 per adult ticket) at El Capitan Theatre

Concessions, + tickets for 100 girls, myself, and 10 chaperones total to $3,164!
(I am no longer covering transportation in an effort to bring MORE mermaids to the theatre! Any amount over this goal is going towards extra tickets and the Ariel dolls below):

I would love to gift each girl with not only the memory of the film forever in their imagination but also something they can cherish and play with every day: A Little Mermaid Doll. To give 100 dolls for each of the 100 girls after the movie, we’d have to give #TheLittleMermaidChallenge our ALL and reach our POSTED goal of $4,663. ($14.99/doll for 100 girls = $1,499)

Please join me, Taylor, Sydnie Chandler Monet, and Lance Cooper in raising funds for #TheLittleMermaidChallenge ~ @faithbelovly
