I am starting this go fund me for my mom, Lori Conroe. She has recently had several medical issues that led her to fall behind. If anyone knows my mom, you know she is a strong woman and very hard worker so this is very difficult for her. She still works full time, 5 sometimes 6 days a week as a rural mail carrier in Brackney. At 67 years old, she still push mows her own yard!

This past fall in November, she had to have surgery to repair 2 torn tendons in her ankle. The surgery ended up being a little more extensive than planned but she had to be out of work for months. This caused her to fall behind on bills. She returned to work, working overtime every week determined to catch up. Although she was tired and with complications of numbness and pain in her leg she carried on.

On Thursday June 5, mom didn’t show up for work. We rushed to her house to check on her and she was in bed, ill. Being an old school stubborn woman, she refused the ER and said she would be better the next day. Two days passed. Saturday she had become so weak, she could no longer walk or even keep her eyes open. She finally gave in and we took her to the ER. She was transferred to Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem and admitted in the ICU with acute renal failure, a fib, respiratory failure and severe dehydration. The cause is still unknown, Drs think it is an infection of some sort. Since then, she has improved greatly. She was moved to a regular hospital room today, and her oxygen was able to be lowered.

Although she is recovering well, she is missing more work and accruing hospital bills now. She will likely need to come home with oxygen and on new medications and possibly even home therapy.

Mom should not have to worry about money and bills while she is recovering and my hope is that I can get her some help and show her she is not alone. I know times are tough for everyone, but they are tougher for some people. If you can donate anything, you are SO appreciated! <3 thank you
